Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Works Maintenance and Monitoring is carrying out the installation of girders for the second major Gull Bagh Bridge over the Kabul River, connecting Districts 7 and 20.
According to the project design, bridge girders are currently being installed. Once this phase is completed, construction of the bridge deck will commence.
The bridge measures 26 meters in length and 22 meters in width and is being constructed on 40 support columns. The project is scheduled to be completed and opened for public use during the current year.
Upon completion, the bridge is expected to significantly improve mobility for both motorists and pedestrians while effectively reducing traffic congestion along the route.
The construction and expansion of standard bridges remain among Kabul Municipality’s key priorities, aimed at enhancing the city’s transportation network, creating alternative routes, and providing greater convenience for residents.
