Asphalt paving has begun on the new connecting road extending from Karte Naw to Qala-e Zaman Khan Road.
The road, which measures 3,070 meters in length and 30 meters in width, is one of Kabul Municipality’s major infrastructure projects in Districts 8 and 16.
During the initial phase, one carriageway extending 1,600 meters and another extending 1,300 meters were prepared for paving, and asphalt work has officially commenced.
Meanwhile, construction on the remaining sections of the road is continuing to prepare them for asphalt paving soon.
The project includes the construction of drainage canals, sidewalks, flowerbeds, retaining walls, and bicycle lanes, as well as the installation of street lighting and road markings. Upon completion, it is expected to provide significant transportation benefits for residents.
The completion of the road will help reduce traffic congestion in the Karte Naw area while also connecting to the Kabul–Jalalabad Road through the Qala-e Zaman Khan area.
Kabul Municipality is committed to completing the project during the current year, contributing not only to the expansion of the city’s transportation infrastructure but also to the improvement of Kabul’s urban landscape.
