The second layer of asphalt paving has begun on approximately 4 kilometers of the first section of the Kabul–Logar Road in accordance with technical and engineering standards.
Construction of the road is progressing rapidly as planned, with efforts underway to complete the project during the current year and open it to traffic.
Project Manager Engineer Shabir Ahmad Shirzad stated that the asphalt paving is being carried out with quality control to ensure the road’s long-term durability.
He added that approximately 45 percent of the overall project has been completed so far, while work on the remaining sections is continuing to prepare them for asphalt paving.
The project includes the construction of a canal, drainage canals, sidewalks, flowerbeds, the installation of street lighting, and road markings.
The project is one of the major infrastructure developments in southern Kabul and, upon completion, is expected to improve transportation for residents while supporting the economic growth of the surrounding areas.
The first section of the Kabul–Logar Road extends 7 kilometers from the Nejat Monument to the Charkh Ab area and has a width of 60 meters.
