_*Asphalt Paving Begins on First Section of Bagrami–Lata Band Road to Kabul–Jalalabad Highway

Following the completion of the foundational works, asphalt paving has commenced on the first section of the Bagrami–Lata Band Road, which connects to the Kabul–Jalalabad Highway in District 21.
The 3,300-meter-long and 60-meter-wide road is regarded one of Kabul Municipality’s major infrastructure projects. Of the total length, a 2,150-meter section has been prepared for asphalt paving across one main lane and one secondary lane. Construction is also underway on the remaining sections, with efforts being made to complete the project and open it to the public within the current year, God willing.
The project includes the construction of a major bridge and several culverts, 7,000 square meters of retaining walls, drainage channels, sidewalks, flowerbeds and parking areas, along with the installation of streetlights and road markings.
The Bagrami–Lata Band Road connecting to the Kabul–Jalalabad Highway is regarded as an important and strategic route in Kabul and is being constructed in two sections. While asphalt paving has begun on the first section, construction work on the second section is also in progress. Once both sections are completed, they are expected to significantly facilitate residents’ travel, ease traffic congestion and connect the southeastern part of the city with other areas.
As an important economic corridor, the road is also expected to contribute significantly to improved transportation, facilitate the movement of goods and support the expansion of economic activities in this part of the city.
