Following the completion of the foundational works, asphalt paving has been completed on an additional one-kilometer section of the Makrorian–Paktia Kot Road.
The road extends 9,397 meters from Makrorian Intersection to Paktia Kot and is 60 meters wide. It is being expanded by 22 meters on both sides, while the existing road will also be rehabilitated and asphalted due to its irregular condition.
So far, a total of 6 kilometers of the road has been asphalted in two lanes, while construction work on the remaining sections is progressing rapidly.
The project also includes the construction of drainage channels, sidewalks, and flowerbeds, as well as the installation of streetlights, road markings, and other urban facilities, all of which will be implemented in accordance with standard specifications.
The road is regarded as an important commercial route in Kabul. Once completed, it will increase traffic capacity and provide significant transportation facilities for citizens.
Kabul Municipality is working to complete the first section of the Kabul–Jalalabad Road, extending from Makrorian Intersection to Paktia Kot, during the current year and open it to the public, God willing.
