Asphalt paving on the first section of the Bagrami–Lataband Road extending to the Kabul–Jalalabad Highway in District 21 is progressing rapidly under the technical supervision of Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Programs and Projects Management.
The road, which is 3,300 meters long and 60 meters wide, is regarded one of Kabul Municipality’s major infrastructure projects.
Meanwhile, construction of the remaining foundational sections of the road is also underway, and the project is planned to be completed and opened to the public during the current year, God willing.
The project also includes the construction of one major bridge and several culverts, 7,000 square meters of retaining walls, drainage channels, sidewalks, parking areas, flowerbeds, the installation of streetlights and road markings.
Upon completion of both sections, the project will strengthen the city’s road network on the one hand and provide residents of the eastern zone and other parts of the city with safer and faster transportation on the other.
Kabul Municipality is working to standardize urban infrastructure and increase the capacity of roads and transportation routes through the implementation of such infrastructure projects.
