Following the completion of the foundational works, asphalt paving is continuing on the remaining sections of the Makrorian–Paktia Kot Road, with efforts underway to complete the project and open it to the public within the current year.
So far, 6,500 meters of the road have been asphalted across two lanes, while construction on the remaining sections is ongoing to prepare them for asphalt paving.
The project also includes the construction of drainage channels, sidewalks and flowerbeds, along with the installation of streetlights, road markings and other necessary facilities.
The Makrorian–Paktia Kot Road is part of the important Kabul–Jalalabad route. Its development will play a significant role in increasing traffic capacity, improving traffic flow and providing better transportation facilities for citizens.
Through this infrastructure project, Kabul Municipality aims to provide citizens with safe and organized transportation while expanding the standard road network and improving urban infrastructure.
The road extends from Makrorian Intersection to Paktia Kot and is 9,397 meters long and 60 meters wide.
